Wedding season is officially here, and if your anything like me that will mean looking at your wardrobe with a hint of horror wondering what you are going to wear before immediately picking up your phone to find something new. With a special occasion on the horizon every other weekend summer can feel like the most expensive time of year, especially when each event comes with it's own photographer documenting your outfit, making it feel like you need something new to wear with every invite that drops into your inbox.

I'm a big fan of being an outfit repeater and will never buy something if I can't think of at least two way to wear it. Keeping cost per wear in mind is a great way to really judge if you need to purchase something new, as is throwing the rule book out the window and not saving your best for best. When it comes to shopping for special occasions I always look for pieces that can be dressed up for the big day, and dressed down afterward to keep the memories you made in that outfit alive.

Outfit: Floral Maxi Dress from ANGELEYE (gifted), Pearl Beaded Bag from Skinny Dip, Block Heel Mules from Primark

Enter this floral keyhole maxi dress from ANGELEYE which is perfect for an upcoming wedding I'll be attending at the end of the month, as well as wearing throughout the summer in a more paired back way. I love the splits at the front of this dress giving it an extra bit of va-va-voom, while the keyhole neck detail and rushing is super pretty and flared sleeves are flattering on the upper arm. ANGELEYE have some gorgeous wedding guest dresses and would recommend checking out their wedding shop if you've got a big event coming up too. For the wedding I'm planning on wearing the dress with my favourite pearl beaded handbag (hello Shrimps dupe of dreams) and these low block heel sandals from Primark I picked up a few years ago. Normally I would probably go for a slightly higher heel however as I'm still carrying an injury on my knee comfort is the most important thing.

Outfit: Raffia backpack from ASOS (Sold Out - similar here and here), Weaved Flatform Trainers from Superga

After the wedding I'm planning on wearing the dress with my favourite Superga weaved flatform trainers, Converse or even sandals and a casual bag for a look that's perfect for those summer plans that you still want to be feeling your best for, think an afternoon in the pub garden, picnics, or even a date!

While cost per wear is important to me, I've also recently started turning away from fast fashion and disposable outfits that are worn just once. Fashion has an awful effect on the environment and as I learn more about it the more I want to help, while a small gesture making a more conscious decision by ensuring the items I buy will get worn for years to come instead of for just one occasion is a good way to get started. I can't wait to wear this dress for my friends wedding later this month, and find new ways to style it throughout the rest of this summer and beyond.
